Center On The Square To Present ‘Red, White And Tuna’May 9th, 2013 | By admin | Category: Entertainment
Red, White, and Tuna sequel to the much beloved Greater Tuna, written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard, will be presented for three weekends at Center on the Square Dinner Theater, 219 Arch Street in Searcy, beginning May 2 through May 19. Greater Tuna was a favorite with theater audiences last season.
The show will open May 2 with a show-only preview night. Dinner shows are May 3, 4, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. Pizza Night is scheduled for Thursday, May 9; Sunday May 19 will be a matinee. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the play beginning at 7:30. Matinee times are 12:30 for dinner and 1:30 show. Tickets are $27.00 for dinner and show ($24.00 for seniors and students), $12.00 for show only and $15.00 for Pizza Night. Sponsor for this production is Henard Utility Company, Inc.
This hilarious southern comedy takes the audience through another satirical ride into the hearts and minds of the polyester-clad citizens of Tuna, Texas, the Lone Star State’s third smallest town. Along with Tuna’s perennial favorites, some new Tuna denizens burst into the 4th of July Tuna High School Class Reunion. This sets the stage for a show full of fireworks and fun from the land where the Lions Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies.
Director Robbie Ballew has cast Lauren Lawson and Dillon Holden, two familiar actors at Center on the Square, to portray the 20 characters in this play. This last show of our 14th season promises to be nothing but pure entertainment.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.centeronthesquare.org or by calling the theater, 501-368-0111.
