National “Take Back” Day was held April 27th. The Beebe Police Dept. participated in it but will continue to offer the service for those who want to safely dispose of their old prescription drugs.

Beebe Police Chief Wayne Ballew said, “This is a service to our citizens who wish to dispose of outdated or unwanted prescription medications. The police department now has a secure disposal box located inside the police department at 201 W. Illinois Street in the lobby area.  ”There are no forms to sign and citizens can just drop the unused substances in the box as simple as mailing a letter.” said the Chief.  The items deposited will be released to the Arkansas State Police and then destroyed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.  The drop box was obtained at no cost to the City of Beebe through a grant obtained by the WISE Coalition of Searcy:  [White County Invested in Substance Abuse Eradication].
