Arson Suspect Arrested

Beebe Police Chief Wayne Ballew reported the arrest of a female suspect who was taken into custody by the BBPD on an outstanding felony warrant from Dallas County for: “Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Arson.”

Gail F. Gilley, 62, who said that her address was 1203 Hwy 36 in Searcy, was arrested on Thurs., April 25th after Asst. Chief Ron Lewis and Captain Eddie Cullum became suspicious of her sitting in a parked vehicle for an extended period of time in a local business parking lot.  ”Gilley seemed nervous and evasive when the two officers made contact with her.” said the Chief.

Further investigation revealed that Dallas County (Fordyce, Arkansas) had issued the felony warrant for Gilley on Dec. 22nd, 2012. Chief Ballew also said that,

“The Dallas County Sheriff was prompt in a response and requested a hold placed on Gilley. They immediately dispatched a Deputy Sheriff to Beebe where the suspect was released to the Deputy.”

Mrs. Gilley’s previous address was provided as 97 Dallas Co. Rd. 417 in Carthage, Arkansas. Gilley’s bond had been set by the Dallas County Court at $50,000.00.
