Beebe VFW Post Donates $1,000 to Beebe Animal Control FacilityMar 28th, 2013 | By admin | Category: News and Features
Mayor Mike Robertson and the Beebe City Council extend their sincere thankfulness to Beebe VFW Post 7769 members for the most gracious donation of $1000.00 dollars. The City will use the money to help find most needed homes for dogs up for adoption. Under current state law all dogs are to be spayed or neutered before adoption. In many cases the cost to sterilize dogs for adoption is too costly for those wishing to adopt a pet. There are times when elderly wish to adopt a pet but the upfront costs for shots and sterilization is just more than they can afford. The $1000.00 donation will be used to offset the cost of adoption so pets may be given a loving home.
The $1000.00 donation is derived from the VFW Bingo night. Up to 80% of the proceeds from bingo night is issued back to those participating with the remaining balance donated to the community less the cost of bingo replacement supplies.
Bingo is played each Mon day night. Doors open at 5 p.m., early birds at 6 p.m. Beebe VFW Post 7769, 405 E. Center Street, next door to Beebe Animal Control Facility, 501-882-7769
