What’s Left?

Gosh!  Can you believe all the news that is happening in the world right now? Not even counting the weird weather, we learned this week that the Pope is going to retire at the end of this month. This morning (Tues.) we learned that North Korea set off a nuclear test causing the U.N. to call a special meeting today. There are just so many weird things going on. Sometimes I wonder if you should even read the news. I know that is not the solution - to put your head in the sand - but your mental state would probably be alot better.

All this makes me think we all need to work on more happy places -in our head. Today I got an email from The Fresh Market. There is one on Cantrell in Little Rock and if you’ve never been there - you need to go. It’s like walking into a food Garden of Eden. I think if someone from a third world country went into one, they would think they were dreaming. I almost feel that way. There is every type of food - gourmet and fresh - that you can imagine. It is a great place to just walk up and down the isles - if you can do that without just buying everything in sight. It is truly almost overwhelming. It reminds me of the first time I went to Cadron Crest Orchards in Guy. It was in peach season and there were so many peaches hanging from the trees I immediately thought of the Garden of Eden and what it must have looked like. If you’ve never been there - you should go in peach season.

I say all this to press my point of having many different happy places in your head. As you know, if you read this column, I end it with “go to your happy place” and mine is usually at the beach. But, it is good to change that up sometimes, I believe, so you can have The Fresh Market - if you’re a foodie or Cadron Crest Orchards - if you’re a “fruity?” - is that a word?  Anyway, you know what I mean.

I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!

Go to one of your happy places!!!

See you next week!
