Helen Jean Richmond, 88, passed away January 29, 2013, at Stuttgart Regional Hospital.
She was born December 26, 1924, in Humphrey, Oklahoma, to William and Mabel Pollard. Jean was the eldest of 7 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mabel Pollard, her husbands Andrew Cooper and Granville Richmond, three brothers Robert Pollard, Frankie Pollard, and Wayne Pollard and one sister Joan Cox.
She is survived by 3 children, daughters Rosemary Petersen (Gerald) of Beebe, Gloria Mills of Hot Springs, Lyndi Kerr (Parker) of Hazen, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Jennifer Crafton (Beebe) James Mills (Hot Springs), Gale Lamb (David) of Taylor, Russell Johnson (Tonya) of Beebe, Harold G. Marable, III (Trey) serving in Afghanistan and wife Grace (Sherwood) and Michelle Kerr (Hazen); 5 great-grandchildren Meagan Rigdon (Little Rock), David Mills (Hot Springs), Brandon Johnson (Tiffany) of Beebe, Amber Johnson (Beebe) and Lindsey Mills (Hot Springs); and great-great grandchildren (twins) Landon and Easton Johnson (Beebe). Also surviving, sisters Jeanette Pollard (NM) and Sylvia Hawhee (IA). Jean owned and operated her own beauty shop, as well as, enjoying sewing, crafts, sketch art, and gardening. She was known to be up before the first bird chirped sewing for someone. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren as their MeMe. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Order of the Eastern Star.
The family expresses a special thank you to Gail Cox for her years of friendship and care-giving.
Visitation was Thursday, January 31, 2013. Funeral services were Friday, February 1, 2013, at 2 pm at Westbrook Funeral Home Hazen, Arkansas. Internment followed in the Hazen Cemetary. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or American Heart Association.
