After nine straight road games to open the season, the Lady Badgers returned home Friday night, December 14th to face Little Rock JA Fair and easily won the contest, 60-12.

After jumping out to a 21-1, 1st quarter lead and leading 44-5 at the half – the Lady Badgers cruised to an easy victory in the second half.

Leading the way for the ladies were Jamie Jackson with 11 points, Sydney Gunter with 8 points, Kalela Miller with 7 points, Annlee Glass and Madison Richey both contributed 6 points and Katie McGraw added 5 points.

After building a 39-point halftime lead, Coach Richey set out his starters in the second half to avoid any injuries. After the game Coach Richey was pleased with his team’s effort and said, “I told the girls this was a game we should win, so go out and respect the game, play hard, play half court and take what they give us.”

Coach Richey went on to say, “I wanted to get everyone in the game and thought everyone that came into the game did a good job and did what I asked them to do. I held the starters out in the 2nd half to keep them all healthy and get some of the others valuable playing time. It was good to finally have our 1st home game and it feels good to be 6-4 against the competition we have played – we could have easily be 10-0 with a break here or there, but we can’t hold our heads down about those losses (which included two - 2 point losses) because the teams that beat us were expected to beat us, but we battled in every game.”

Coach concluded by stating, “ I think we have played the right schedule to get better and that’s what our goal was going into conference play. I see some things now that shows that we are sharing the ball, moving the ball around and playing better overall team defense and that’s what I wanted to see at this time of the year.”

The Lady Badgers will be back in action Friday night, December 21st, at Badger Arena against Little Rock Christian, starting at 6p.m. Come out and support your Lady Badgers as they head into conference play!!
