Students from the digital arts classes at Arkansas State University-Beebe received awards following the recent art show and exhibit.
The Student Show A was judged by Jasmine Greer, an art instructor at the University of Central Arkansas, based on overall presentation. The show displayed works of art from Graphic Design I, Introduction to Photography, and Introduction to Illustrator, which are taught by Tiffany McPeak; and Color Theory, which is taught by Thomas Fernandez.
Winners were announced in the following categories:
Graphic Design I: First place, Crystal Warren of Ward, graphic design; second place, Marion Henry of Searcy, liberal arts; and third place, Chris Davis of Beebe, liberal arts with agriculture emphasis. Honorable mention was Cheyenne Lee of Lonoke, liberal arts with fine arts emphasis.
Introduction to Digital Photography: First place, Ashley Watson of Cabot, graphic design; second place, Josh Green of Searcy, liberal arts; and third place, Carlee Fisher of Des Arc, business. Honorable mention was Jeffery Amerman of Cabot, liberal arts with education/psychology emphasis.
Introduction to Illustrator: First place, Sara Croft of Carlisle, graphic design; second place, Crystal Warren; and third place, Jacyln Holland of Heber Springs, graphic design. Honorable mention was Diane Cathey of Heber Springs, freshman.
Color Theory: First place, Ashley Underwood, of Jacksonville, education; and second place, Jenna Flaherty, of Austin, graphic design.
The England Center Art Gallery exhibits works of art by students and featured artists throughout the academic year. The gallery, located at the corner of Center and Orange Streets in Beebe, is free admission and open to the public, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
