Veterans Day Celebrated Hosted by American Legion Post 91

The commemoration of Veterans Day was held in Beebe on the 11th month, 11th day but not at the 11th hour - but at 1 p.m. because the day fell on Sunday. The event was hosted by the American Legion Post 91 and was attended by about 100 people including a portion of the high school band, the AFJROTC. The weather was very windy with rain intermittently falling throughout the ceremony which eventually led to the program being completed inside at the ASU-Beebe Student Center. Williard Crain received a certificate for his 40 years of service to the American Legion where he has served as Commander for 22 years - until 1995. He also serves as commander of the post currently. Crain was the featured speaker at the ceremony where he spoke of dedication and sacrifice of the veterans, saying, “Every day is veterans day.”

A special thanks to the American Legion Post 91 and the Ladies Auxiliary for hosting this event.
