The Beebe Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire early Saturday morning, Oct. 27th at the corner of Swinging Bridge Rd. and Huskey Lane in Beebe. A young woman, Tiffany Weatherford, 38, was killed in the fire. She was alone in the house with her cat - who also perished.

According to a family friend, Tiffany Weatherford went to sleep on her couch Saturday night in front of the woodburning stove while her husband, Todd, was at work. Her house caught fire, apparently from the wood-burning stove and the roof collapsed on her while she was asleep on the couch.

Asst. Fire Chief Rick Jackson   said,  “We received the call about 2:05 a.m. Saturday morning. When we arrived on the scene, the house was fully involved, complete roof had already collapsed.” Jackson said that Beebe Vol. Fire Dept., Antioch, McRae and El Paso also responded to the blaze.

A message from the family:

***Our family has been hit by a terrible tragedy.  In the early hours of Saturday morning October 27th, while Todd Weatherford was at work on his job, his home was totally destroyed by fire.  His beautiful, sweet, loving wife, Tiffany, died in the fire.  His son Devin and he lost everything, it was a total loss.  A special fund has been set up at Iberia Bank, go to any branch and make a deposit for “The Weatherford Fund.”  To mail a contribution, send it to Iberia Bank Attn.
