What’s Left?

When you write a column every week you are constantly taking note of things that happen during the day so that you can write about them in your column. Now, when I say “taking note” I wish I meant actually writing it down as a reminder because that is what you need to do to keep up with all these thoughts that come through your head - but, alas, I do not normally write them down or record them but rely on that ever undependable memory to snap back and remind me of what I was going to write about. Such is the case this week - as in most weeks. But I actually do remember some of what I was going to write about for this week. Actually, I have been watching lots of movie previews (trailers) on television and there are a surprising number of movies that I would actually like to see. This is very unusual for me as I normally go to the theatre about once a year - maybe. But coming out soon is the movie “Cloud Atlas” which has Tom Hanks in it. I am intrigued by the title and have no idea what it really means but the movie is supposed to be about how everything we do connects and affects many others. It should be good and has gotten good previews. I believe it starts this week or next. The other one that I would like to see is “Lincoln” - which opens sometime in November (not long). The previews of that one look really good if you are into the Civil War - which I am not but I am interested in history and those events. I guess what I mean is that I’m not just obsessed with the Civil War. Then there is one more movie that is rated PG and is supposed to be like another Avatar movie. The name of it is “Life of Pi” - anyway, I doubt that I’ll make it to all these but who knows. At least these are some that look pretty interesting.

My cats are pretty much doing fine. They take an inordinate amount of my time but I do enjoy them. I just wish I could spend my time playing with them rather than cleaning and medicating them. Oh, well - it’s like people who love their cars and just would like to drive on curvy, scenic roads all the time and not do the cleaning and maintenance on them. Well, OK, it’s not exactly like that - but no matter what you spend your time on or love - you have to spend time taking care of it/them.

Don’t forget to early vote this Wed. or Thurs. at City Hall.

Go to your happy place.

See you next week!
