The first ATA shoot of the new year was held Saturday, September the 29th at Blue Rock Gun Club in No. Little Rock. ATA members from both around the state and out of state came to participate and shoot in one, two or all three events the shoot had to offer. First, second and third places were awarded in both class and divisions.
One member of the CATS, Hope McAlee, a sub-junior shooter, competed in the ladies division of 100 single birds and came away with the first place award. Hope’s shooting ability and dedication to the shooting sports makes her a valuable member of the trap team. Although some of the other team members came close to getting awards but did not quite make it, all got to participate in the shooting of the hats for three of the members who shot 25 straight during the competition.
Cody Hiser and Slayton Davis shot their first 25 straight and Briar Shawn added to his collection of hats with holes.
Two new members of the CATS who have not ever shot trap, were Alex Boyce and Dallion Sheffer. Both athletes shot exceptionally well for their first time. Other members who participated were Garret Woods, Jacob Boyce, Briar Shawn, Cody Hiser, Hope McAlee, Ben Hays, Kirklynd Miller, Nash Miller, Clay Smith, John Bell and Slayton Davis.
