American Legion Post 91 along with several local sponsors presented the first annual Salute Our Heroes military and veteran appreciation event Saturday, Aug. 4th,  at the Beebe Ballpark.

There was plenty of free food supplied by First Security Bank and Knight’s Super Foods along with musical entertainment by Diggit Johnson.  Legionnaires and delegates from this year’s Boys and Girls State programs prepared and served the meal.  Several Veteran support agencies had advocates on hand to lend advice and review claims.  There was a good turnout of Military, Guard, Reserve, Veterans and their families who showed up to enjoy the venue.   Michael Westergren of Legion Post 91 said that none of this would have  been possible without the fabulous support of our local businesses.  He thanked Stallion Transportation Group, A Perfect Bloom, Rausch Coleman Homes, Ozark Biomedical, Sunland Enterprises and The Beebe News along with Knight’s and First Security Bank for their loyal support of all our military and veterans.  He also was grateful for the Beebe Fire Department’s help during this event.

“Many veterans were helped -  some did not even  know they  had earned benefits available to them,” Westergren said.   “I want to see this event become an annual celebration of those who serve our nation.”
