Earnest Lee George

Earnest Lee George, Sr., 89, of Ward, Arkansas, was born October 16, 1922, at McRae, Arkansas to Henderson and Oma (Garhart) George, and he passed away on July 25, 2012.  He served in Germany during WWII, where he earned the Purple Heart.  Earnest had a very tender heart and was always trying to help those in need.  He loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dogs.

Earnest was preceded in death by his wife, Edna George; his parents; sister, Helen Allen and Eunice Roper; and brother, Junior George.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Hess of Butlerville; sons Earnest Lee George, Jr. of Jacksonville; Russell Perry of Beebe; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.  Funeral was 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  www.westbrookfuneralhome.com
