What’s Left?

it’s hot, hot, hot and then some!!!!  BUT - instead of whining about that - I am going to talk about a diversion - the Olympics. I have really been  enjoying watching the Olympics on NBC. It was a strange opening night on Friday - typically British - as a friend of mine observed - but it was definitely educational. I liked that Paul McCartney sang at the end but I could not come up with why he sang, “Hey, Jude.”  It seems to me that he had several other songs that would have been more appropriate for the occasion. But, oh, well!

I really enjoy seeing all the athletes compete and seeing those from very small countries and how well they do or just how happy they are to just be at the Olympics.  I’ve especially enjoyed seeing all the pictures from around London. It is really beautiful - in an old, ancient sort of way. The Olympics continue through August 12th - so we still have several days to go. I would like to see a list of all the different sports that will be featured during this Olympic challenge. I’m sure it’s on the internet - if I would just look it up. I vaguely remember there was mention that windsurfing might be on the venue. I hope so - I love that sport. Can’t do it - but have tried it. It seems almost impossible to me that you could surf and sail at the same time. Apparently, my body finds it impossible too. But it was a great workout trying it several years ago. Today, I doubt that I could even pull myself back up on the board after falling off - let alone stand up and balance a wave.

I hope you’re having a good summer! School starts soon!

Go to your happy place.

See you next week!
