What’s Left?

We just got the Class of 2012 graduated and this past Monday we honored our veterans on Memorial Day. This was a very small get together this year at the Beebe Monument. That is very disappointing to me that people can’t take a few minutes out of their day to honor those who gave their lives for our freedom. Sure - you talk about how much you appreciate veterans but when it comes to attending an event honoring them - you just can’t find the time. Sure - there are always excuses: didn’t know what time, didn’t know where, etc. But, bottom line - you just didn’t care enough to get up and grt out there. Please, try to find the time to attend a local veterans Memorial Day service next year and maybe even make it to the Nov. 11th, Veterans Day event that will be held at our Beebe Veterans Monument at 11 a.m. at the monument on Dewitt Henry Drive. I don’t blame the veterans for not being there - they have already done their service, now it’s our turn. So, make plans to be there this Nov. 11th and show the veterans that you really do care - it’s not just something you say.

I hope you had a good Memorial weekend.  I basically worked but it was great weather. I did attend the Memorial Day event at our Veterans Memorial Park. It was short but nice that the American Legion Post 91 provided the ceremony. Thank you, guys!

Last Friday, I went up to the Special Olympics and saw the kids having such a great time. If you’ve never been to that - you have got to go next year. It is an amazing experience!

My cats are doing pretty good. They’ve got some new toys and they are terribly spoiled but - mostly they are doing well. Mr. Six has already been swimming twice - not by choice - but he really does like it but just can’t bring himself to get in the water by himself. I actually do have a few cats that would probably do that if they had the accessibility. Cats are pretty good swimmers and I think if the water was their body temperature (105.1) or something like that - they would like it. They just don’t like the water running noise. When I have to give one a bath, I run the water first and then put them in the bathtub of very warm water. They seem not to mind it. But sometimes I give them a shower and I put the nozzle up to their skin so they can’t hear the water noise. Just an FYI for those of you who plan to swim with or give a bath to a cat.

Go to your happy place.

See you next week!
