Circuit Judge Tom Hughes ordered a new trial in the issue of who owns a million dollar lottery ticket which was thrown in the trash at the Super 1 Stop convenience store in Beebe. Hughes awarded Sharon Duncan the $1 million ticket on May 1st saying that she did not mean to throw the money away while the woman who pulled it from the trash and collected the money, Sharon Jones, was left to await appeal.

The new trial date has not been announced as yet.

The amount of money in question is $680,000.
