What’s Left?

You know how I’m frequently saying good things about living in Beebe - and I’m serious about them. But one of the things that I don’t like - and I think I’ve written about this before too is that we have some very bad drivers here in town. I guess if you live here long enough and maybe don’t go to larger towns, your driving skills get rusty. And maybe I’m talking about myself, too. But this is a gripe about “other people” and not the person in the mirror. If you’ve lived here a long time, it is likely you:  (and this theme is like Jeff Foxworthy’s You Might Be a Redneck If…” mentality) never use your blinker because, a. you’re not quite sure when you’re going to turn or which way, b. figure the other people know where you’re going so there is no need to use your blinker, or c. want to irritate those who dare to be on the highway at the same time you are so “let them figure it out.”

If you’ve lived here a long time: When you back up, you don’t always look behind you because everyone knows you are dangerous when you back up so they should get out of your way.

Have your insurance agent on your speed dial on your cell phone since you have so many fender-bender claims.

Avoid public parking lots since you can’t get the police involved in placing blame on “the other person” that parked too close to you so you were justified in scraping the side of their car with your door, fender or other.

These are just a few of my observations - and I know as soon as I finish this column I will think of several more. So- drive defensively. You need to here - and in the “big” cities.

On another totally different note. You wouldn’t know it by looking at me but I love make-up. I don’t wear alot but I love to “have” it in the drawers of my bathroom. I have three drawers of all types of stuff. And, I also love nail polish even though I rarely wear any on my fingernails - just toenails. I recently bought some OPI brand nail polish with the name “It’s My Year” - now how could you resist that?  And, it is a beautiful color that changes depending on the direction you see it. Fun!!!! I wish I could paint my car in it. But if you’ve ever noticed OPI nail polish names - they are very imaginative. They have a Pirates of the Caribbean color kit, Last Friday Night, My Private Jet - just to name a few. I like that! Maybe my cats need their claws painted???

Go to your happy place!

See you next week!
