I hope you had a great Easter!!!!  I got to see lots of kids hunt Easter eggs at Daniel Park on Friday afternoon. They were so excited and were having a great time. I know many of the area churches had Easter egg hunts for their younger members of the  congregation. I hope you all had fun no matter what you did. I actually did, as I often do, watch The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston. Wow, that is an old movie that I’ve seen probably at least ten times. You just have to do something more than just going to church Sunday morning to celebrate - honor - the true meaning of Easter. It was surprising to me that there were so few religious shows on television that weekend. We had so many people at our church Sunday morning - as we always do on Easter - that  I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if we had this many each Sunday?”  I know many of the people there were from out of town and here visiting relatives. I’m sure all the local churches were filled to capacity Easter morning.

When I was growing up in  North Little Rock, we always had a sunrise service at Burns Park. It was generally very cold, as I recall. But we always went to it. I think they still have it and they have one at the Rivermarket area in Little Rock. Around here, I really don’t remember but maybe one or two years when some church had an actual sunrise service. It is nice. Hard to get up and get ready that early but still, a fitting thing for Easter. Maybe next year…

I think I may have told you that I now have a pet mouse. His/her name is Squiggle. He/she is very skiddish but the other day it held it’s ears up for the first time. It was so cute! For some reason, I love little creatures like that. It had two siblings - but they didn’t make it. I think they got too cold before I put the cage on a heating pad (covered in a towel). Or, maybe they were actually waiting for their mother to come feed them. I was afraid to feed them with an eyedropper because their little nose and mouth were so close together - I was afraid they would inhale some of the liquid.  Anyway, I’m not letting the cats see the mouse - so don’t worry!

Go to your happy place!

See you next week!
