Students at Beebe Elementary are helping to fight hunger in our state by participating in the Great Arkansas Penny Hunt. Each year students across Arkansas help change the lives of students suffering from hunger in our state simply by collecting change as a part of Arkansas Rice Depot’s Great Arkansas Penny Hunt. The collected change supports the Food for Kids program at Arkansas Rice Depot. Food For Kids is a simple solution to students that struggle in the classroom due to hunger at home. This program provides kid-friendly food items sent home in backpacks to more than 32,000 students in over 620 schools across Arkansas.

By collecting change, students at Beebe Elementary are making a big difference in the lives of hungry students. This year Beebe Elementary collected $351.17. Students collected change for 10 days. Students in Ms. Looney’s class collected the most change, with a total of $64.63. They will receive a $50 Wal-Mart gift card to purchase school supplies for their classroom.
