ASU-Jonesboro Site for Johnny Cash Birthday Tribute Changes

The site for the Johnny Cash Birthday Tribute, Sunday, Feb. 26, to celebrate the 80th birthday of the late singer has been moved to the Dyess (Ark.) Community Center, State Highway 297 at East 4th Street. The event, hosted by Arkansas State University, will begin at 2 p.m. to launch the restoration of the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home.

The Birthday Tribute will feature Cash family members singing and offering personal tributes and reminiscences, to kick off the restoration of the residence of Ray and Carrie Cash from 1935 until 1954. Light refreshments will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
