State Representative Jeremy Gillam Announces Run for Re-Election

State Representative Jeremy Gillam is running for re-election to Arkansas House of Representatives. He is currently serving his first term. “The opportunity to serve and represent the citizens of this district is a great honor. It is a responsibility that I take very seriously,” said Gillam.

As a result of the 2010 census, the current district has been redrawn and renumbered.  District 49 is now District 45.  Gillam says, “Although I am disappointed to have lost some great communities with the new map, I am proud to still have the chance to represent my hometown of Beebe and the great communities that surround it.”

Representative Gillam is a member of the House Judiciary Committee as well as the City, County, and Local Affairs Committee and the Information and Technology Committee. He serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Freshman Caucus and the Chairman of the Local Governmental Personnel Subcommittee.

Jeremy is co-owner of Gillam Farms. He is a graduate of Beebe High School. He attended ASU-Beebe before completing degrees in Criminology and Psychology at ASU in Jonesboro.

He also serves as a member of the White County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, the ASU Beebe Development Council, Horticulture Chairman for Arkansas Farm Bureau, member of the Arkansas Foundation for Agriculture Board of Directors, and member of the American Farm Bureau Labor Committee.

Jeremy is a past member of the USDA Fruit and Vegetable Advisory Committee and the American Farm Bureau Horticulture Committee.

He and wife, Carissa, and their two sons live in Judsonia. They are members of Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy where Jeremy and Carissa teach the College and Careers Bible Study classes. Jeremy also currently serves as Chairman of the Deacons.
