Registration begins February 6 for Arkansas Arts Center Museum School Junior Arts Academy

(LITTLE ROCK, AR) – Registration begins Monday, February 6 for the Arkansas Arts Center Museum School’s Junior Arts Academy.  Junior Arts Academy will be held June 4- 15, 2012, Monday- Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This annual summer program provides both visual and theatrical arts instruction to 6-9 year olds. This year’s theme is Fractured Fairy Tales, where students will alter different components of traditional fairy tales, giving them a modern spin. Visual arts projects include making collages, working with clay, wood working, mask making, painting and large group projects. Theatrical instruction will include pantomime, improvisation and movement. The two-week program culminates with Play and Display where students show off the work they have created, and perform original short plays on the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre stage.

Tuition for Junior Arts Academy is $495. Arkansas Arts Center Members receive a discount. Scholarships are available to help offset the cost of tuition. Inquire when registering.
