LITTLE ROCK – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement in support of National School Choice Week, January 22-28, 2012

“Innovation in education is critical to maintaining America’s leadership and competitiveness.  Parents should be able to determine how their children are educated and where they attend school.  I support school vouchers and other innovative educational options such as magnet and charter schools.  That is why I am proud to celebrate National School Choice Week, which raises awareness for a variety of policies that provide parents with the flexibility to choose the best school for their children.”

The inaugural National School Choice Week was held last year.  According to organizers, supporters of National School Choice Week represent a broad spectrum of education reformers.  This week, over 280 events are planned around the country in support of school choice, including three within the Second Congressional District of Arkansas.  For a complete list, or for more information about National School Choice Week, please visit: www.schoolchoiceweek.com.
