What’s Left?

Well - this is the week! Christmas is here - or will be Sunday!  I hope you’re more ready for it than I am. But I will get there - even if it’s last minute.
So much is happening. All the troops from Arkansas serving in Iraq have come home as of Tuesday. That is great! What a great Christmas it is for those families! Now that would be a great Christmas!
This morning, as I was brushing my teeth with my Sonicare toothbrush, my cat, Mr. Six, was watching me. I wondered what he would do if I tried to brush his teeth with the sonic toothbrush (as I was about to change out the brush head anyway). So, believe it or not, he just stood there and let me brush his teeth - front and back. I didn’t believe it either. I’m going to try to get it on video and see if Sonicare will hire him as a “spokescat” for Sonicare. Maybe they should come up with a pet model. Most people won’t share their toothbrush with a cat. Don’t blame them.
Want a great last minute Christmas gift? The Beebe Animal Shelter has about 8 dogs of varioius sizes and both sexes who got spayed and neutered last week. All you will need to do is pay about $60 and the dog will be yours - ready to go. Call Horace Taylor at 288-1940 if you are interested in having a new member of your family.
Last week, as I told you in this column, I went to see Cirque du Soleil Dralion at Verizon arena. It was fantastic!  I cannot believe that people can do the things those performers did. I am not particularly impressed by jugglers and acrobats, etc. but these people were just incredible. The juggler had about 12 things going at once - catching a ball on his foot, behind his neck and keeping most going in the air the whole time. It was unbelieveable!  And they had a trampoline act that was so inventive. If you ever get a chance to see Cirque du Soleil - you should go. You will be totally entertained and amazed.
A friend of mine has five kittens that need a home. They don’t have a mother but are able to eat on their own now. They are very tame and lovable. If you are looking for a kitten - call me at 882-5414 and I’ll tell you how to get in touch with her. These kittens need a good home for Christmas - or at least by New Year’s.
I had someone call me today asking why I had not put in the paper about Walmart coming to Beebe. Well, as many of you know, I did have it in the paper that they were not ready to comment. And they still have not made a public comment about whether or not they are coming but the land where they supposedly purchased - is being cleared and is destroying the roosts of many of the blackbirds. Most people will be glad of that. I hope the blackbirds will go out in the country and make their new roosts there. Seems like it would be better for everyone. But, back to Walmart - when I hear from them - I will tell you.
Have a great Christmas!
Go to your happy place!
See you next week!
