What’s Left?

It’s Monday night as I’m writing this (can you believe I’m writing it that early?) and I have just finished watching the 20/20 ABC show featuring Gabrielle Giffords and Mark Kelly. It was so inspirational. I think seeing her recovery from the gunshot to her head is quite frankly - a miracle.  It was also inspirational seeing those therapists who worked with her along her journey - which will continue for some time. She has made incredible progress in her speech and much of it has been through music. It is amazing that some patients with brain injuries can be treated with music therapy. I was so impressed with that show. I want to read their new book, “Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope.”

And on to another uplifting experience. Friday morning at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2011,  I was at the Veterans Monument in Beebe and there were many people in attendance at the American Legion lead ceremony. It was an inspiring event and the crowd was happy to hear the Beebe High School band as well as the AFJROTC. It was a nice salute to our veterans. Thanks to the American Legion for sponsoring this event and to those who participated in it.

Can you believe that next week is Thanksgiving?  I know I say things like this all the time but I just can’t believe we are nearing the end of November and then it will be Christmas and then a new year. Wow! Time flies…. well you know.

We here at The Beebe News will be closed next Wed. thru Friday. We are publishing the paper our one day early so you will get yours in the mail on Wednesday and they will be available in the racks on Wednesday.

Well, the Badgers have made it to the second round of the state play-offs! Go Badgers, beat Camden!

Go to your happy place!

See you next week!
