What’s Left?

Hot, hot, hot. Don’t you hate it when we just obsess over the weather when there is not one thing we can do about it?! I do it all the time. I don’t know why. Perhaps it gives me some sort of pleasure in that I’m badmouthing Mother Nature for tormenting us so much. You know, she did it in the winter, too, with all the snow. Bad Mother Nature! Bad!
Anyway, the good thing about the temperature is that it’s almost a must that you have to get in the pool everyday. I have been, as I told you last week, getting my dogs used to swimming so they can cool off. The new puppy that I have - which I am still looking for someone to adopt - even likes the pool. She is not a great swimmer but she does really like water. I held the hose out for her with the sprayer on the end of it and she kept biting at the fringe water spray as she got her head totally wet. It was funny. My other dog, who had just gotten out of the pool, looked at her as if to say, “Wow, how’d you get that wet?”  But he won’t get near a hose that is turned on and when it is turned off he chews it to pieces. I’ve lost a couple of hoses to our dog pen. Finally, I’ve just had to take it out altogether and just drag one in there when I need it. It’s kind of frustrating but I’m not the Dog Whisperer so I can’t overcome some of these problems. I do better overcoming cat problems but am still not sucessful enough to have my own tv program. Still working on it however.
The other day I was opening a bag of chicken jerky for one of the dogs. Why do they put it in a zip lock type bag? Afraid it will get stale? I didn’t know you could get it any harder than the way you make jerky. But that is just my thoughts.
Each night I have to fight a couple of my cats who want to eat the fish food as I try to feed my two new Oscars. I haven’t officially named them but am leaning toward Oscar and Oscette. Is that too predictable? Probably. I’ll keep thinking about it.
I was so extremely upset to hear of the house fire which severely burned our Jennifer Latture. I say “our” because she is the mayor’s assistant and she has always been so helpful in everything having to do with the city. Please pray for her to heal quickly and be as pain-free as possible. She is in Children’s Hospital and will be there quite a while. God bless you and your family, Jennifer.
As Jennifer gets better, I will give you her address so you can send her your well wishes.
Let’s all go to our happy places!
See you next week!
