What’s Left?Jan 20th, 2011 | By admin | Category: Opinion
I’m sitting here trying to write my column (on Tuesday night) and I have one arm around a little tri-colored, bobbed tail kitty starring up at me. It’s hard to type but she is a little kitty so I can still reach the keyboard. This cat is named Skittles but we call her Nubin - for ovious reasons. She is a Japanese Bobtail cat - which are supposed to be lucky - so they say in Japan. She is pretty lucky - to have found a home here. When she was younger, she could jump so high. She would jump up to grab a cat toy. She won’t do it anymore but she is still fiesty and runs full speed around my bedroom at night - which can be dangerous if she decides to run over your face. She seems to have no sense when it comes to that. She is having fun and apparently doesn’t think too deeply about where she runs. But she is very entertaining - as are most all of my cats. Skittles (Nubin) used to wake me up at night having a fit at the window because my black outside cat would come up to the window and harrass her. It’s nice waking up suddenly at 3 a.m. with a cat “screaming” at the top of her lungs. My house is like a zoo sometimes.
On to other topics. I’m so glad that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is doing better. I know the recovery rate will be so much slower than any of us would like but I am so happy that she survived and hopefully will make a very good recovery.
I’m glad the other wounded people are recovering as well.
I hear they are predicting snow on Thursday afternoon. Wouldn’t that be something? The second snow of the new year. That would be enough for me. We’ll just have to wait and see!
I hope you are making your new year a great one! Here’s a quote I got from author Brook Noel: “Something great is going to happen today…I can’t wait to see what it is!”
Go to your happy place!
See you next week!
