He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Vela (Harrison) Hefner; brothers, Dueward, L.E. (Budge) and Vernice Hefner; infant son, Michael Hefner; son Gary Hefner; and great-grandson, Blake Kurck.

Hundreds of special needs children from Beebe, Searcy, Cabot and other nearby schools took advantage of the hundreds of volunteers who provided them with a day of horseback riding, games and a great lunch provided by Centennial Bank. The children were all smiles as they enjoyed the hospitality of  Brewer Farms for the annual event.
