I’m writing this before Christmas - but our family had our “family Christmas” this past Saturday. You’ll probably see this issue of the newspaper after Christmas but you might see it on Tues., Dec. 24th - as it will be out on the newstands but will be in the mail on Dec. 26th. Anyway - [...]
This week’s paper is our Christmas issue. It is very confusing to me because it will come out one week before Christmas. But the choice was to go one week early or a day late. I think I’d rather see the Santa Letters and the Christmas greetings before Christmas than one day or more after [...]
Tis the Season to Give
It is indeed an honor to live in our “Dream Hometown” with folks like you. YOU make the work of the Beebe Ministerial Alliance (BMA) and the Beebe Christian Outreach Center (COC) successful. This year we fed approximately 450 families (over 1350 people) per month and distributed at least 50,000 pieces [...]
It was sad to note the passing of a great man - Nelson Mandela. He was 95. I don’t have enough room here to write about his remarkable life.

Well - here we are - just past Thanksgiving and headed to Christmas! Time flies - as they say! This Saturday night - weather permitting - we will have the annual Chamber Lighted Christmas Parade. It starts at 6 p.m. at the school and comes downtown - usual route. I am honored to be one [...]
I hope each of you have a great Thanksgiving! As I sit here and think about this past year and all the things I have to be thankful for - I have to say that I am so thankful for my family - for my mother who is doing great and keeps us all going! [...]
I hope that you got to experience our record-setting temperatures this past Sunday. I believe it got to about 83 here in Beebe. They say that it set a record in Little Rock which was set in 1965. That’s a long time ago. Now we have the new record set that very day.
Anyway - about [...]
As usual, this past Monday there was a great Veterans Day ceremony at Beebe Veterans Monument. The ceremony was performed by Garner Bros. American Legion Post 91 - as in recent years - and they did a great job. The Beebe High School band really added a lot to the program and played some very [...]
Last Tuesday night, October 29th, (I’m writing this Monday night, Nov. 4th) I had the pleasure of first attending the open house at ASU-Beebe art gallery which featured three Beebe artists’ work. It was the first time I had seen the renovated old science building which has been transformed into the art department which includes [...]
Well, when the paper comes out - it will be Halloween. I don’t really celebrate Halloween per se - but I do enjoy seeing everyone in costume - when they’re not scary. I like the little cartoon characters costumes like Tweedy Bird and Sylvester, etc. I am not really into the actual scary stuff. But [...]
